Its only fitting that my first blog post should be about hair. Conveniently I actually went to the hair salon today with the mission of having a hairstyle that allows me to add more volume!! I have always had long hair but I decided to take the plunge and get my hair cut short (technically its still long but short in my books!). I always find that longer hair seems to weigh down my hair so a shorter style with less layers will allow me to style my hair more easily.
I have a few tips with regards to how I add volume to my hair to share so here goes:
The less products you use the better as they can weigh your hair down. Personally I don't really like to use mousse as I don't like the sticky finish instead spraying a little salt spray at the roots can give you a little volume along with a good backcombing brush like the one in the picture above. When blow drying your hair use a round brush and work section by section.
When it comes to styling I love heated rollers! especially the ones by Babyliss you just end up with much more natural looking curls not to mention voluminous hair in a few minutes. If you love your curling irons make sure you wrap your hair around the iron inwards rather than outwards starting at the root as this will give your hair much more body. If your short on time then using the Babyliss root boost crimper alone can suffice although Im not majorly struck on this product, so if your one that likes alot of volume then honestly this isn't going to do the job for you.
Finally I can't end this post without mentioning this fantastic hairspray. Im so fussy when it comes to hairspray but I like this one as it will make sure your style and all that backcombing stays in all day! its the backcomb in a bottle by Umberto Gianni. Hope you liked the tips. A list of the products I use are listed below :)
